AboutI am a writer, early-career researcher, and artist who explores matters of the environment and belonging.
I completed my PhD in Social Anthropology in 2025 at the University of Cambridge, where I now hold the position of Postdoctoral Research Associate.
My research interests include islands, oceans, historical-anthropology, multispecies and more-than-human ethnography, science, political ecology, and conservation.
I am passionate about creating relevant research that reaches audiences beyond academia. My artistic practices of drawing, painting, photography, and filmmaking are essential to my work.
I pride myself on writing beautifully about complex issues and unfamiliar worlds. My writing has been recognised through numerous awards. I was recently shortlisted for the UNSW Press Bragg Prize for Science Writing. My work is featured on Sapiens and in The Best Australian Science Writing anthology of 2025.
